i'm majorly lazered.

two words:

MAJOR LAZER

You know when you're at the club and the dj is spinning some sick song and you're like "damn son what is this beat?!" and a few weeks later your friend just happens to start playing his ipod and that same song comes on and you're like "OMG WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!"

that's me and major lazer for ya.

my very own missed connection.

If you know what "Missed Connections Personals" are on Kijiji, then you'll understand this post.

Last weekend I went to a frat party, and needless to say it was rather hectic. At one point my friends and I decided we needed to use the ladies room so we made our way down the crazy-steep narrow staircase, whilst other people were trying to make their way up at the same time. Please keep in mind every last person is intoxicated. My friends went ahead of me, and I, being the klutz I am, dropped my cellphone which then proceeded to shatter into 3 pieces (Front, Back Cover and Battery) and spread out on the dark, grimey, Frat House floor. In my drunken state, I began to freak out considering it was pitch black and there were people (who could potentially be stepping on or moving the pieces around the floor) everywhere.

So I'm on the floor (bare knees and all, yummy) and scrambling around for the pieces. I managed to find the biggest piece but wasn't having any luck with the other 2. All of a sudden, I hear a guy's voice saying "What's wrong baby? Are you okay?" and I go "Buddy.." (keep in mind I call 5-year-old boys "Buddy") "...buddy, I dropped my cellphone" or something along those lines. This guy then proceeded to keep comforting me, telling me that he could call me a cab or lend me his phone to find my friends, all while he is using HIS cellphone light to shine the floor around where I dropped my phone pieces. As he is comforting me, he finds the back cover. Now I just had to find the tiny black phone battery. All I remember saying really at this point was "Buddy...I can't find it" or "Buddy, what do I do?" . Finally, my hand (now all dirty from the custy floor) found the tiny phone battery. At that point, my stupidly drunken mind could only think to do the following (keep in mind I was still muttering "Buddy ... this" and "Buddy...that"):

Me: hey buddy
Guy : yeah
Me: hey buddy?
Guy : yes?
Me: I found it!

and at that point I RAN away as fast as I could. I'm talking like, running away from a 200 lb bear running away. The next morning, as I reflected on this moment, I pondered to myself,

Why?

Why didn't I even look to see what he looked like? Why didn't I even think to say thank you? Why didn't I even think to try and find him later on? Why was my natural instinct (i.e. what comes out when you're under the influence) tell me to address him like I would a kid or a relative and not a potential husband? i.e. Why "Buddy"?

I mean, it was like one of those moments from the movies when the girl at the library (in this case, girl at frat party) drops her books (drops her phone) and her future husband picks up the books for her, their eyes meet, and it's love at first sight.

I could've just missed a meeting with my future hubby.

Stupid Vindya.

super update!

so, it's been a while, and that's an understatement. I haven't update in what, 5 months?

First year is almost over.

typing that out really really really hurts.

This has been the best 8 months of my life.

legit.

i will write a sappy goodbye later.

for now, updates!

November:
- broke my camera, boo.
- craziest weekend of my life:
thursday was social sci semi, was too ... a couple of my friends didn't get in, spent the rest of the night ranting & crying.
friday was saugeen semi: amazing, sober night. lots of pictures with friends. a little floor drama, but that's all settled now.
Saturday: first day of football tourney, we didn't do so good. it's okay, we had the BIGGEST PARTY IN THE ZOO EVER. because of Tight & Bright 2009, SMH 2009-2010 is going in the history books. the school spirit was amazing, the cops were frustrated, the ceiling tiles shattered, what else can i say?
sunday: 2nd day of the football tourney, fall preview day, we chanted and screamed every where we went, covered in mud but full of spirit. I really miss those girls. we may not have won but that night we had the most amazing porch climb EVER. got hammed. sang all the way home. no other way to describe it!

December:
- nothing much, yo. exams, went home early (everyone was jealous)
- got a new camera, got a bunch of new outfits
- saw family, that's all i asked for that christmas
- had a CRAAAZY new year's with my best friends: "homo ho'dis"; "bitch i watched two thirds of Milk today i am NOT in the mood" ; "BEDPAN!" ; "i hate ... girls with facial hair!" ; the most sexual game of thumper i have ever played, and to the beat too ; ...am i missing anything guys?
- classy dinner the night after (totes hungover) with friends, lovely.
- did well on both my exams, hurrah.

January:

- MCMASTER/LAURIER KIDS VISIT WEEKEND: Pike BlackLight frat party + party/crunk day ; sloppy night with the besties. wack, but fun too. i loved that you guys came!
- Gel/Jen come to visit weekend: random rock show, frat party fail and unexpected drunk night: looking for gel for ages and finding her with TomTom at 5am. people yacking on a staggered schedule [Emi - 2am; Jen - 4am; Crystal - 6am]. I was the mommy that weekend, i applied lip balm on all their lips myself.
- Jan 26: HAPPY 19TH EMILY! going out to the bars on a tuesday night is interesting :)
- Londonlicious: auberge du petit prince was so quaint and (apparently) the wine was good !!

- Oh, I joined SMH Glee Club in there somewhere

February:
- Seeing Bee wrestle and pop out her elbow, catch up day with Nea, and random sleepover night with Evelyn weekend!
- ROUGE NIGHTCLUB: amazing!!! first time there , it was sick, to say the least. went for my baby Nada's birthday. Love her to death, she brightens up my day.
- Reading week: Went to New Hampshire/NYC for the first time! shopping/touring around; saw Rebecca & Jessica after sooo long! (sober, anyways, haha); FINALLLLY partied it up with Mish downtown! amazing night, I hope everything works out babe!; actually got some hw done because during the day I was stuck in my house (no car, no house key)

March:
- that "holy crap its March" feeling
- organizing Relay
- Sigma Chi Heaven & Hell Party: wingwoman for the night ; dutty washrooms ; duttier boys ; SUBWAY - employees taking tequila shots @ 4am; Louis being barely conscious; Vic's "Pi Beta Phi" dance that saved my ass a few times (haha)
