A Jumble of things.

*PRE-NOTE SPOILER WARNING FOR JOHN & KATE PLUS 8! IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE LATEST EPISODE, ONLY READ UP TO THE BUNNY STORY*

So that was my random catch-up post, and this is my actual post. I actually think of a lot of blogging ideas when I'm running. It's kinda nice. Speaking of running (there's gonna be a lot of "Speaking of_______" digressions in this blog, just cus I haven't blogged in forever and all these ideas are piled up in my brain)...anyways, speaking of running, I think its getting too darned hot to jog now. Today, I had to go on my run at 8:30, and it was still pretty sweltering. On the way home, I was racing the sun and getting attacked by mosquitoes. Not pretty. Soo, what I figured was that I would finally build up the courage to ask someone at the gym how to work all the machines, because what I used to do was take classes with old ladies, until I got sick of all those old ladies. I never really liked the treadmill though, (I always preferred running) because I got to observe nature instead of staring at a blank wall and running on the spot. However, I think I've come up with a sufficient way to keep me occupied and unbored for however long I'm going to be on the treadmill : audiobooks. A little nerdy, I know, but I think it'll capture my attention until before I know it, I've burned 300 calories. Sound good ? yayyy.

Okay second topic off the top of my head: what the hell is on my face right now ? I'm wearing this really weird mask that I usually wear like twice a week. It's so messy and gross looking, but it works. It's made of 2 really weird ingredients:

Neem powder

+

Sandalwood powder

=

masque! except not so nice looking.

It's hella messy and it sheds (powdery stuff) So I pretty much have to change my sheets every other day. Not so cool for a non-clean freak such as myself. Anyways, I just wanted to let out the frustration I had about this masque. All in all, it works miracles, so I shouldn't complain.

So what HAVE I been doing all this time? Well, I figured since there's only 22 days left until the movie comes out (on July 15), I should start reading Harry potter and the Half-Blood Prince. And, as usual, I'm glued to the book until something extremely urgent disrupts me and I am unwillingly forced to abandon my reading. I'm actually quite surprised I found the time to do this because the whole time I've been writing this I've been thinking of reading. I'm definitely addicted.

Oh, speaking of things I'm excited for, I'm finally going to see The Fray, one of my favourite bands of all time, tomorrow! With Jack's Mannequin, who I incidentally happen to be seeing for the second time even though I'm not exactly their biggest fan. Ah well. I'm seeing THE FRAY BABY! woooo!!

One more thing that gets me trés excited: Matt Lanter. The hot roadster from 90210 and the main character in 'Disaster Movie' (which happens to be a shitty ass movie, never watch it). Ladies, you know what I'm talking about:

just look at those...eyes.

(no seriously, he has the sexiest eyes I've seen in a while):

Moving on, I think I'll finish off with a little sadism. Unintentional sadism, of course. So, I have this cute little pond right outside my front door. My dad spends a good deal of his gardening time making sure the fish are alive and that it's clean (it gets dirty hella fast - blame the rain). About a month and a half ago, in my backyard, a mother bird decided to establish her home in the roofed part of my deck, and soon lay eggs which turned into little chicks. We soon noticed the birds were gone, and figured they had "left the nest". A couple of days ago, my dad found a little dead bird floating in his beloved pond. Strike one. We were all pretty shocked, but it's not so uncommon these days, (I passed by the same dead bird 3 days in a row on my runs one time). Today, I was coming back from my run when my dad stopped me on the drive-way. He informed me that, to my utter horror, he had found a dead baby rabbit floating in the pond. It seems to have gotten stuck since the walls of the pond are so steep. I was close to tears for the next half-an-hour or so. Just the thought of imagining that poor little rabbit struggling to get out of the pond until it's little muscles were to tired to try just gives me the shudders. Ugh. Just thought I'd share my grief with all of y'all :)

Okay, I know I said I was finishing off but I'm not done quite yet! Did anyone see John & Kate plus 8 today? (Or should I say, John, 8...& Kate now?) SPOILER ALERT! They're separating!!! I'm so sad. Especially for little Aiden, who is my absolute favourite.

How could they do that to them ? Ugh. Haven't they ever heard of "stay together for the kids?". Well, I guess I didn't know the whole story, and who am I to speak? Although I do have the right to an opinion.

Hm... I feel like this has ended on a bitter / sad note. I think I'll add just one more thing: a correction to my "summer favourites" blog. Turns out, I haven't had any one of those favourites since. My new addiction?

BUBBLE TEA!
(I went to 3 different tea places in a week...I think that got me started).

Wow, sooo it's been a while. I think that whole write-3-blogs-in-4-days thing was just a phase. I'm back to my old blog-once-or-twice-a-month ways.

Actually, I think I've just been either a) lazy or b) busy because I have 2 posts on here that I started that I haven't finished. The following is a tidbit I wrote a while ago, because the post before that was one where I avoided talking about what was on my mind because it was so jumbled. I tried to clarify it but then either got confused or bored...I don't quite remember, but I stopped writing nonetheless.

Anyways, here's what's left of it, and my attempt at continuing what I started:

Moving on,

I'm going to (attempt to) put down in words what I avoided in my last post. So here's a warning, it's going to be a giant blurb on friendship, so if you're not feelin' it, I don't advise you read on.

High school, in retrospect (a lot of things are in retrospect right now, high school being one) was a giant game of cat and mouse, cops and robbers, dog-eat-dog whatever you want to call it. On the surface, it doesn't seem like it, and no single person could ever imagine that they, or anyone else they call friends could be capable of what they are thinking of, but it happens. I think that it's all in the the subconscious. Let me explain: I know that I, nor anyone one else, could expect anyone to have something like this on their mind all of the time wow, i am incredibly jealous of how popular she is and how she gets invited to everything. However, I can expect people to show this in their actions. I know that I myself have had this type of thought before, but it's never my main focus. However, as event unfold, it may look like, from the point of view of someone who knows that I have this thought, that I am engaging in actions that demonstrate this thought. Confused yet? Let me explain.

So Jimmy and Katie and dating. Claire, Katie's best friend is jealous of Katie's popularity and awesome love life (Jimmy is really hot). One day, in a conversation with Katie, Claire finds out that Katie thinks another girl named Lindsay is flirting with Jimmy. So, Claire (with no apparent hidden agenda), talks to Lindsay and also to Jimmy. Claire finds out that yes, Lindsay's always had a little crush on Jimmy. Now both Lindsay and Jimmy are aware of it. Now that Jimmy is more aware of it, whenever he talks to Lindsay, its awkward. Katie notices this and confronts Jimmy. (Remember, Katie doesn't know Jimmy knows she knows Lindsay likes him) Jimmy denies anything, but it all explodes in Katie's face and they end it. Katie talks to Lindsay, who also blatantly denies everything, but informs Katie that Claire talked to her. Now, Katie, in addition to hating Lindsay, fights with Claire and loses her best friend (over a "he said she said" - type argument). Katie's "perfect" life is no more. Who comes out on top? Claire.

See what I mean? Although it was never Claire's intention to ruin Katie's social life, that thought in the back of her head affected her actions. [by the way - that story was totally made up, don't even try to compare it to anyone or any particular situation; if it does sound familiar, its totally by coincidence].

To me, that's your average high school social life mechanism. Of course, there's other important elements in there:

- gossip: what's high school without gossip. it is the way by which any simple statement or question can turn into a hugely destructive rumour.

-jealousy: because it's a dog-eat-dog world, everyone wants what the other has.

-emotions: what would adolescence be without sensitive emotions and the melodrama it entails?

I'm hoping and praying that university will be better, that the people will be above all of this. Oh, and one more thing. I'm not trying to say that I myself was devoid of all drama, if anything, I was often involved in it. All I'm saying is, I'm sick of it, and I'm sick of high school. I'm so glad it's over & I'm so effing excited (and that's an understatement) for university.

(I'm just hoping I'm not setting my hopes too high)

Right now, I have a tonne of thoughts & feelings running through me. Unfortunately, I am not ready to share them, because even if I tried, they would look something like this:

movving on.

i've always wanted to do that thing where, in the magazines they find a celebrity walking down the street looking all fly, and then they make their own version of the celebrities outfit. I figured I could do it, because for one, the magazines' rendition isn't always to my liking, and also, I can add my own spin to it.Mind you, I already have an outfit in mind, so I just Googled it, and worked with my options there.

So here's my summer outfit plan: GLADIATOR SANDALS! and various summer staples. This includes summery dresses, some not-so-summery dresses, a few frilly shirts paired with a nice pair of white shorts.

And now for the looks I'm going to (very roughly) recreate:

SUMMERFAVES09

gross gross. i just watched a shitty-ass, gross movie, called "Drag Me To Hell". Picture: old lady, dentures, and a whole lot of creepy sounds. oh, and throw in a dumb blonde. result? one crappy horror movie. come on Justin Long, i think you should stick to snogging Drew Barrymore and starring in low budget teenage comedies (ie "Accepted"). okay, i think i'm done ranting.

as usual there's always a hidden agenda behind my blogs. especially now that i've written 2 blogs within 3 days! that's like, a world record for me. it also goes to show how effing bored I am with my life! Kay so, I was thinking, summer's almost here, and I've always had a few summer favourites in terms of food. This year, I've narrowed it down to three (again, I find myself making a list, because that's what I do, but this is a short list, and it pertains to me specifically, so, i feel it doesn't fit on makingthelist:

UNO: Tim Horton's Iced Coffee

for that "awwww yeaaahhhhh" feeling on a really hot day. plus, it's drive-thru accessible: perfect for those lazy summer days when you just don't feel like getting out of your car.

DOS: Yogenfrüz Strawberry Low Fat Frozen Yogurt

my mouth waters just thinking of it. to me, it tastes better than any other ice cream, plus, its healthy! i don't know about you, but I think it's kind of a big deal that I love this so much, considering I'm pretty much a self-declared meatatarian.

TRES:Starbucks Iced Passion Tea Lemonade

introduced to me by a friend who works at Starbucks, I immediately fell in love with this drink 2 summers ago. It's cool, it's refreshing, and it's amazing.

that was a short post, but I just had to get that out of me. Come to think of it, now i'm craving all three drinks. damn it all.

(do you believe?)

to f or not to f my life ?

I'm trying to keep both my blogs up to date but it's taking quite a lot of effort. Don't get me wrong, I've got tons of ideas for both but I just have to get into that blogging mood, yanno? Today's blogging mood is thanks to reading one of my friends blogs, which spurred me to add something to makingthelist, which in turn spurred me to add something on here.

Thoughts&Feelings UPDATE: eh. not really in the mood for this, but, I will say that this past weekend (Prom weekend) was simply amazing. I'm really sorry and thankful to those "sobers", as they became known as, who really helped me out. I'm lucky enough to remember most of the night, and I'm thankful I had such a great time. Prom itself was awesome; I'd spent almost 8 hours the day before setting up, mostly blowing up about 100 balloons myself (out of 1000+). Now every time I see a balloon I shudder. All in all, it was amazing.

The past few days I've kinda been lazing around, watching 90210, which is my filler until gossip girl starts again. Nothing, NOTHING, compares to gossip girl. I finally got off my ass and went for a run these past few days, lets hope it lasts. Oh, and I did something kinda-productive: I helped my sister out with her religion project on abusive relationships! Check out my work:

AND NOW, FOR THE REAL REASON BEHIND THIS BLOG:
I'm going to make a list of my most visited websites soon, but first, I would like to mention 2 very entertaining websites, both of which I visit regularly, but are ironically opposite in meaning but have similar effects. This isn't quite a list blog , so i figured it would be fitting to place it here.

SITE #1: FMYLIFE.COM
Kay soo, I'm sure most of you know of this already. This site if full of anecdotes from people whose lives (for that day at least), just plain SUCK ASS. Hence, it causes them to say "fuck my life", thus coining the term "an fml moment". The following are examples (just from today alone) of these genius recollections:

Today, I came home from work when I heard people in my apartment. My apartment was supposed to be empty, so I entered ready to fight some thieves. I rushed in and hit the closest person to me before the lights switched on. It was a surprise party. I broke my girlfriend's cheek-bone. FML
Today, I hooked up with a girl from the bar. We went back to my place and started making out, I took off her shirt and bra and started kissing her breasts. I felt her chest hair tickle my tongue. FML
Today, I was sitting in class and I fell asleep during the lesson. I was wearing sweatpants and had an erection. My teacher came up to me and grabbed my penis. She thought it was my phone. FML

ahahahaaa. So why do I go on this site pretty much everyday? Well, it kinda makes you feel good about your life. Every time you read one of those horrific anecdotes, you think to yourself "boy am I glad that didn't happen to me today!". Thus, it's also a fave on downer days when I'm just plain bummed out.

SITE #2: 1000AWESOMETHINGS.COM
This site just makes me so happy when I read it. Basically, the author comes up with 1 awesome thing about life everyday. I discovered it when the author went on a morning radio show that I happened to be listening to on the drive to school one day. As soon as I got home, I checked it out, and the author was right, it really did make my day. Every post makes me smile. Check out some examples:

#753 When your sneeze stalls for a second and then suddenly comes booming out
#765 Thinking it’s Thursday when it’s Friday
#769 When the thing you were going to buy is already on sale
#789 Putting potato chips on a sandwich
#793 All the food that comes out of a cow

Aren't they all just...awesome?! So why do I read this site? To make me feel better, just like fml. The difference is that I celebrate the goods things about life, instead of laughing at other people's failures. I high recommend everyone to check this site out.

Well, that's all for now.
